Should I demo an elliptical trainer before I buy one?

Total body workout

The elliptical makes the upper body work harder than a treadmill would. A lot of people find that it is easier to burn greater number of calories more quickly. Due to the design of the machine, the upper body gets a great workout due to the arms pushing and pulling against the resistance of the apparatus.

Elliptical trainer models

The variety of models available is great. Most will come with an elliptical exercise plan or adjustable resistance program which you can adjust to your level of fitness. As the stride pattern can be greatly different in length and feel it is important that you feel comfortable when exercising. Some brands have adjustable stride length, others are shorter or longer.
